High Risk Flooding Likely For Arizona Starting Monday

A high risk flooding event is about to unfold for the state of Arizona, the hardest hit areas being the Central and Southern state zones starting Monday and going into Tuesday.

A tropical disturbance, Invest91E, is well south of the area, however with the strong northerly flow aloft from a wandering low west of Southern California, this system is drawing up deep tropical moisture this next week, starting Monday.  The deep tropical moisture plume is aiming the metro zones of Phoenix, Flagstaff, and Tucson.  These cities may need a Flood Warning from us if trends continue so if you are no the app system, look for it.

This moisture surge will be out of Arizona by Wednesday.  Expect numerous flood reports with this system … along with a complex of thunderstorms, especially for the Western Half of Arizona later Monday … including the Phoenix Metro areas as lifting associated from the divergence of the low to the west moves through.
