An upper-level system will move out of the west today. This upper-level system will provide the lifting within the eastern periphery, which will be enough for explosive thunderstorm development. A dryline located in Eastern New Mexico is very prominent. Dewpoints are up and the temperature is rising. Backing southeast winds that were not there yesterday will accompany the surface low in Northern New Mexico to bring a tornado probability, mainly along the watch area and centering Clovis, New Mexico.
Large hail and damaging winds will be possible in and around the watch area.
