Heavy Rains and Flooding to Hit the Southern half of Louisiana Monday through Tuesday morning

by

National Weather Force has issued a Flood Watch effective Monday through Tuesday Morning for the Southern half of Louisiana.

Discussion:  A tropical low in Mexico will eject northeastward across Northeast Mexico and into the Gulf of Mexico this weekend.  Rains will start first in Southern Texas today, with an increase on Sunday in that same area.  The rains will then start moving into Louisiana by Monday later morning or early afternoon, with increasing flooding conditions through Monday night and into early Tuesday morning.

National Weather Force Flood Risk Assessment Model shows an extreme risk of flooding for southeast, southern, and south-central state for this event within the watch area.  The article image is of the flood watch zone, which is where the moderate, high, and extreme color shades are.

This system will vacate the state over the afternoon on Tuesday.
