National Weather Force has issued a Tornado Watch effective for the evening into the overnight tonight, Sunday May 7th into the 8th, 2023 for the following areas … All of Iowa except Northern parts …but it does include Eastern Nebraska’s Omaha forecast zones … and also Extreme Northern Missouri …
A storm system coming out of the Pacific Northwest will target the midwestern states mentioned above … over the day you will have passing activity, but as the upper divergence comes into the area, increasing southerly winds at the surface will develop along a front coming out of the north. As this happens, within only about 1-3 hours of a window, shear will be there for tornadoes, some of them will be strong.
