National Weather Force has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective now until 11pm tonight in an area from Eastern Oregon and through Western Idaho.
A system coming out of the west will move into the region today. Thunderstorms east of the upper-level system will form, with a movement from south-southwest to north-northeast These storms can have the power to produce the chance of an isolated tornado as well. As these storms move northeastward through the watch area with time, they will gain strengthen and produce damaging wind gusts as well. Storms will fade with wanning instability by around 10-11pm tonight.
